Our latest design is San Antini for Ellis of Richmond. We wanted to create a sense of Italian lifestyle through storytelling which we have achieved by producing an illustration of a typical Italian street scene using a limited colour palette. Storytelling has been a vital part of human existence since caveman times. It is such an important part of not only design, but marketing as a whole. It is about understanding the consumer and the makers behind the product and asking them questions. As creativity guru Ken Robinson said in a recent TED speech "Curiosity is the engine of achievement".
Stories also help us find commonalities with people who are different to us. Wine in itself is an ongoing story. A passion to share, it crosses language and cultural barriers. Check out today's piece on the blog 12x75 by wine writer and philosopher, Steph Knipe. Titled 'Buying Wine: The Social Experiment', it gives great insight and validation that wine is one of the greatest commonalities of all.
