Red wine has to date been the BD Studio’s superfood of choice. We relish its antioxidant qualities ;)! Abi brought in Thomasina Mier’s book Chilli Notes to share some of the recipes and the interesting facts about chillis: Vitamins A and C, iron, potassium, magnesium and antioxidants and a hit of metabolism boosting to boot. Abi challenged the team to a Thomasina chilli cook off, with the winner receiving a bottle of Amon-Ra by Ben Glaetzer she had been saving for a special day.
An array of recipes were chosen and the results photographically recorded to ward off any potential cheats.
Scott - Thai Style Spicy Pumpkin Soup.
Hannah - BBQ Ribs and Homemade Baked Beans.
Stephi - Sichuan Noodles with Tofu and Broccoli.
Miguel - Apple Tart with Spiced Caramel.
It being BD, there were creative extras added – paprika sweet potato chips with Hannah’s sticky ribs and Miguel, detailed as always, spent time styling his tart to get that camera ready look to perfection.
On a flavour note, Stephi won the prize bottle, the extra grinding she gave her spices certainly added a woody and peppery zing. Delicious.
Luckily she shared the wine…no cold and flu bugs in this studio this Winter, we plan to keep the chilli and red wine consumption up!
