Our new work for Foley Family Wines takes a classic and gives it a modern twist. Think fish and chips but with a dill infused batter and mushy broad beans. Or more fitting to Russian Jack; borscht with crispy sage sourdough mini toasts. Still the classic provenance that we know and love but with an extra added level of surprise.
Our labels (different illustration for each varietal) give a strong sense of place, telling the story of Russian Jack, a much loved 'gentleman of the road' who picked fruit for the farmers of Martinborough, New Zealand into his old age. The community built a bronze statue to his memory.
Perhaps Russian Jack's borscht might have occasionally had a little twist to it. More likely a shot of vodka we think.
