Sangria, But Not As You Know It
Fresh, fruit-infused styles are on the rise among Millennial consumers; Spanish wines are the fastest-growing category in bars and restaurants and sparkling has seen growth of 105%, with cider at 59% (2014). Craft beer is squeezing market share from wine and there is a move towards lower alcohol options by health conscious consumers.
Enter Pompita. Sangria, but not as you know it: crafted and regional, simple, fun and engaging, authentically Spanish.
As Pompita’s creative partner, we worked with them to create and define the brand identity, the product positioning, packaging design, the copy and tone of voice, as well as the website and photography.
We looked at the wine market and took a bold approach: from the name ‘Pompita’ (which means ‘small bubble’ in Spanish) to the bottle size, the closure and the bespoke illustrative label designs from our very own comic strip artist, Scott, the brand identity we developed is memorable with plenty of fizz. Each bottle tells the story behind the Spanish city from which the recipe came, perfect for positioning the product with its target audience.
We designed punchy and engaging copy to use on sales and P.O.S material, as well as online; and as a multi-channel branding project, it wasn’t complete without one of the most important digital assets – the website!
